ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug 13 (PIA) – Senator Bong Go is expected to visit Isabela City, Basilan and Zamboanga City tomorrow (August 14) to launch the 135th and 136th Malasakit Centers in the country.
The 135th Malasakit Center will be launched in Basilan General Hospital, while the 136th will be launched in Labuan Public Hospital, Zamboanga City.
The Malasakit Center is an initiative of Senator Bong Go that seeks to make it easier and faster for poor and indigent patients to avail of financial medical assistance. In these centers, personnel from government agencies that provide these assistances are present so the patients or their watchers no longer have to visit said offices individually and spend much time and commute fare. In addition, the center staff are also mandated to assist clients in referral services.
These agencies include the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and the Department of Health (DOH).
“Personnel from these agencies are present in Malasakit Centers and are ready to provide assistance,” Sen. Go said. (RVC/EDT/DIS/PIA9-Zamboanga City, photo grabbed from Sen. Bong Go’s Facebook page)
