USAID partners with Mandaluyong City

Integrates TB screening in COVID-19 vax drive

PASIG CITY, (PIA) -- The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through the USAID TB Platforms, partners with the City Government of Mandaluyong in the integration of tuberculosis (TB) testing with the city’s vaccination program.

USAID’s TB Platforms Project has provided free chest X-ray for vaccinees in Andres Bonifacio Integrated School. Active case finding activities for TB will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

In the National Capital Region, the cities of Taguig, Mandaluyong and Municipality of Pateros, in collaboration with USAID’s TB Platforms, are encouraging other local government units to make TB a priority amid COVID-19.

The right information about TB is important especially in this time of pandemic. It is also important to encourage Filipinos to consult with health professionals to check for TB symptoms so that they can be properly treated and to avoid further spread of the disease. (USAID TB Platforms/PIA-NCR)
