NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) – The Department of Education (DepEd) - Division of Biliran has urged parents, private individuals, government agencies and private establishments to also support the department’s priority programs as it faces the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her recent guesting at PIA-Biliran’s radio program, Chief Education Supervisor Lucille Roa
appealed to its benefactors of this school year’s Brigada Eskwela to support the department’s priority programs as well such as the WASH in Schools; gulayan sa paaralan; children and protection programs; gender and development; disaster risk reduction and management; and information, communication and technology.
Though no face-to-face classes are allowed at the moment, school facilities need to be maintained as they are utilized as quarantine facilities during this time of pandemic.
Thus, structural repair, ground maintenance, and basic utilities need to be attended to for the comfort of those quarantined in support to disaster risk reduction and management, Roa said.
All schools in the division accept any form of donations and contributions not only within the Brigada Eskwela period from August 3 to September 30 but all year round, added Roa.
Ryan Remandaban, senior education specialist and Brigada Eskwela focal person said the entire Division of Biliran was able to collect a total of P17-M in all forms of donations and contributions in last year’s Brigada Eskwela. (LDL/MLT/PIA-8/Biliran)
