MANILA, (PIA) -- The University of the Philippines College of Law has announcead the winners for the UP Law Folio 2021 dubbed “Dito sa UP Law: Many Voices, One Community.”
The College received over 90 entries in several categories, including Essays, Poetry, and Stories in English, Digital and Traditional Visual Art, Mga Kuwento, Mga Tula at Tuluyang Patula, and Mga Sanaysay.
With the theme “After the Lockdown: Braving New Paths,” the College intended to strengthen and rally a strong sense of community throughout the UP Law Complex amidst the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic through either written or visual art expressions.
The Folio’s participants were enrolled law students, faculty, as well as academic and non-academic staff of the College.
The winners were chosen by an expert panel of judges composed of the country’s renowned authors, essayists, poets, and writers — leaders in the fields of art, film, creative writing, and literature. The judges were Dr. Jose Dalisay Jr., Atty. Nicholas Pichay, Dr. Rolando Tolentino, Atty. Rizalde Laudencia, Atty. Fina dela Cuesta Tantuico and Atty. Alden Lauzon.

Essay in English (Student): Unum Diem Ad Tempus by Kristina Tianzon Azanes
Essay in English (Non-Academic Staff): Life in time of the pandemic, challenges and coping thereafter by Bella Zenaida Torres Desamito
Poetry in English (Student): Warm Hands by Niobe Verena Moran Vidal
Stories in English (Student): The Dictionary of Marginal Notes by Charlene Mae Olesco Tugano
Traditional Visual Art (Student): Fever dream (I want to stay) by Jayvee Arbonida del Rosario
Traditional Visual Art (Non-Academic Staff): Stay with me till the sun sets and we rise together by Gianina O. Cabanilla
Digital Visual Art (Student): Life goes on… by Razel Ann Pelandas Esteban
Digital Visual Art (Non-Academic Staff): Pagsulong sa kabila ng pagsubok by Marissa Lucido Iñigo
Mga Kuwento (Student): Pagkapit by Charlemagne Revollido Dumaya
Mga Sanaysay (Non-Academic Staff): Nasaan ang Diwa? by Juancho Mozo Agoncillo
Mga Tula at Tuluyang Patula (Student): Sanlibong Linta by John Ray Allen Castillon Bisarra
