COTABATO CITY August (PIA) – The City Government of Cotabato, through the Office on Social Welfare and Development Services (OSWDS) has started the release of second semester 2021 payout to 9,650 indigent senior citizen beneficiaries in the city.

OSWDS Officer Cheribin Mena Viloria said each senior citizen is entitled to a P3,000 cash for the semester. The distribution of pensions started on August 23 and  will end on September 3 with specific schedule per barangay.

“The said program aims to augment the needs of indigent senior citizens especially during this time of GCQ,” Viloria said.

Payout schedules per barangays are as follows: August 23-25 (Rosary Heights 3, Poblacion 2, Poblacion 3, Poblacion 4, RH10, Kalanganan 2, RH 7, RH 9, RH 11, RH 8, RH 5);  August 26-31 (RH Mother, Poblacion 8, RH 6, RH 4, Poblacion 9, Tamontaka Mother, Tamontaka 1, Tamontaka 2, Tamontaka 3, Tamontaka 4, Tamontaka 5, Poblacion Mother, Poblacion 7); September 1-3 (Bagua Mother, Bagua 1, Bagua 2, Kalanganan Mother, Kalanganan 1, Bagua 3, RH 1, RH 2, RH 12, RH 13, Poblacion 1, Poblacion 5, Poblacion 6,).

OSWDS also assured the public that minimum health protocols are strictly observed during the distribution.

The social pension as mandated in the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 seeks to augment the daily subsistence and medical needs of indigent elderly to improve their living condition. (With reports from OSWD).
