BARMM grants full scholarship to 6 medical students

COTABATO CITY August (PIA) --The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed Tuesday that six students from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are set to pursue their medical courses after the MOH sealed a memorandum of agreement (MOA)  on Friday, August 27, with the Davao City-based Brokenshire College School of Medicine.

In a released report, the MOH said, the signed agreement will grant a full scholarship which will provide financial assistance for each selected student.

The scholarship program will cover 100% of the tuition fee and other expenses while studying medical courses, it added.

MOH Minister Dr. Bashary Latiph said that granting of medical scholarship is one of the government's efforts to attain optimum health and wellness for the Bangsamoro people.

“We acknowledge that this MOA is the first step towards the increase of health care professionals for the BARMM,” Latiph said in his message during the MOA signing activity.

On Friday, Noraina Kamid, MOH-BARMM scholarship program coordinator, represented Latiph in the MOA signing with Brokenshire College of Medicine President Rev. Oliver Paraiso at the school’s main building in Davao City. (PIA Cotabato City)
