DepEd Borongan City Division holds ‘Oplan Balik Eskwela’

BORONGAN CITY (PIA) -- The Department of Education (DepEd), Borongan City Division Office on September 1 held a virtual convergence meeting of stakeholders of the “Oplan Balik Eskwela” (OBE) in preparation for the opening of the School Year 2021- 2022.

The OBE is an annual initiative to engage agencies, organizations, and other stakeholders in preparation for the opening of classes which is on September 13.

This year’s theme is “OBE 2021: Bayanihan Para sa Ligtas na Balik Eskwela.”

The OBE aims to address problems, queries, and other concerns commonly encountered by the public at the start of the school year 2021- 2022.

In his opening message during the virtual convergence meeting, City Schools Supirentendent Bernardo A. Adina imparted the saying that “the first day of school is the most important day of the child, it’s not the graduation day.”

Parents and families of students should remember that the first day of classes is a big deal for our children so we must prepare, Adina addressed the parents.

Adina said the school year is always replete with problems, challenges, and even sacrifices just to provide education to our children. “Education has to continue even during disasters, even during the pandemic and it should be the DepEd that should say, we are the last to surrender,” Adina said.

Adina said that because of the new normal situation, the distant learning, the use of self-learning modules, the google classrooms, the online classes, the online enrolment and other new education processes that they have done last year will continue.

In his closing remarks, Assistant Schools Superintendent Gaudencio C. Aljibe said, “We have to prove ourselves that the bayanihan spirit is alive, making everything possible for our schools in Borongan City Division to operate the best that they could offer to all our learners despite the health issues that we are facing.”

Aljibe said they are able to sustain the quality education offering because of their highly responsive stakeholders, like Congresswoman Ma. Fe R. Abunda, Governor Ben P. Evardone, City Mayor Jose Ivan C. Agda, and the partner agencies. (NBQ/SDC/PIA-8/Eastern Samar)
