CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) -- More than 2,000,000 vaccines have already been administered by the Manila City Government since the massive vaccine rollout began last March.
As of 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, the local government tallied about 2,009,171 vaccine doses already administered against COVID-19.
About 1,265,473 have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 792,505 have been fully vaccinated.
Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" expressed his gratitude to his constituents who heeded the government's call to get vaccinated.
"Salamat sa inyo at pinaniwalaan ninyo yung sistema natin na marahil hindi perpekto, ang mahalaga sa akin ay nabakunahan ang higit na marami sa lalong madaling panahon (Thank you for believing in our system, eventhough probably not perfect, what is important to me is that more people will be vaccinated soon)," Domagoso said.
"Ang importante ay lahat tayo mabakunahan sa lalong madaling panahon, at iyan ay nakamit natin dahil sa inyo, dahil sa pakikinig niyo sa akin (The important thing is that we can all be vaccinated as soon as possible, and that we have achieved because of you, because of you heeding my call)," he added.
Domagoso assured that his administration will continue to address the situation inclusively not only for Manilenos but also for the general public.
The Mayor also said life-saving medication such as Tocilizumab and Remdesivir can be availed from the local government for anyone who needs it.
"Delikado po talaga ang sitwasyon natin kaya sa totoo lamang, ang pamahalaan, katulad ng pamahalaang lokal ng Maynila ay patuloy na dapat tumutugon sa pangangailangan ng tao sa loob ng pandemyang ito (Our situation is really dangerous so in fact, the government, like the local government of Manila must continue to respond to human needs during this pandemic)," he said.
"Walang ibang aasahan ang tao kung hindi ang pamahalaan (There is nothing else man can expect but the government)," the Mayor added. (MPIO/PIA-NCR)
