NCot’s Kalivungan Festival highlights MSMEs’ local products

KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato (PIA)-- Local products of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province are now being featured through a Buy Lokal, Go Global trade exhibit which is part of the 107th founding anniversary celebration and 2021 Kalivungan Festival of North Cotabato.

The exhibit is  spearheaded by the Cotabato Provincial Investment and Promotion Center (CPIPC), Provincial Cooperative and Development Office (PCDO), and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.

It features products from Velasco's Souvenir Items and Handicrafts; Ma Habiy Arts and Crafts; SJC Food Products; Don Bosco Multi-purpose Cooperative; Kamalig Mushroom Hauz; provincial cooperatives members; Office of Provincial Agriculture Multi-purpose Cooperative; LGU-Matalam; Candier; Dr. Alfred’s Essentials, Inc.; and Gabriel Food Production and Processing. The products include mango wine and puree, native bags and bracelets, coco sugar, taro chips, premium and civet coffee, organic rice, tablea, wild honey, adlay rice, and many more.

The exhibit, located at the back of the Provincial Capitol, runs until Thursday, September 2.

In her message during the opening of the exhibit, Governor Nancy Catamco emphasized the role of MSMEs in the development of the economy. She noted that because of the MSMEs, economy of the province continues to thrive despite the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the governor said the provincial government is focusing on further improving and developing local products in the province in preparation for the opening of the Central Mindanao Airport in M’lang. With the operation of the said facility, local products of the province will be highlighted not just in other parts of the Philippines but also in other areas of the world.
