More ELCAC communities in NCot receive dev’t projects

KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato (PIA)—Two barangays in North Cotabato are set to implement projects under the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

This was after the provincial government led the groundbreaking and capsule laying ceremonies in Barangay Camutan, Antipas and Barangay Amabil, Magpet on Thursday, October 15.

Each beneficiary barangay was funded a total of P20 million to implement development projects.

In Barangay Camutan, the fund will be used to implement a barangay water system and farm-to-market road (FMR) projects. The said FMR will link Sitio Camad and Sitio Gumay.

Meanwhile, in Barangay Amabil, the allocation will be used to implement a 1.3 kilometer-FMR project connecting Purok San Roque and Centro Amabil.

Barangays Camutan and Amabil are the 8th and 9th barangays that  started the implementation of SBDP projects in North Cotabato.

Last month, the provincial government, together with partner agencies, conducted a series of groundbreaking and capsule laying ceremonies to other beneficiary barangays. These are New Cebu and La Esperanza in President Roxas; Don Panaca and Bantac, Magpet; Batang, Tulunan; Luayon, Makilala; and Datu Ladayon, Arakan.

For this year,  36 barangays in the province  have benefited for the  SBDP  that  promotes peace and progress, particularly in far-flung areas.

Governor Nancy Catamco emphasized that the provincial government is doing its best to provide the needed programs and projects of North Cotabateños, particularly the rebel returnees. This is to aid them as they reintegrate back into the mainstream society. (With reports from IDCD-PGO)
