San Pedro District Hospital inaugurates new facilities

SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna (PIA) — Patients seeking treatment at the San Pedro City District Hospital will now be able to get more improved healthcare services as the government-run hospital upgrades its facilities.

The San Pedro City District Hospital recently inaugurated its upgraded facilities which include the emergency complex, out-patient department, and the administration office.

Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez led the inauguration rites of the hospital facilities worth P30-M funded through the Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP) of the Department of Health (DOH).

The district hospital boasts its new emergency complex which has a 2-bed capacity observation room, treatment room with four stretchers, and a minor operating room,

Other new facilities which are expected to improve the delivery of healthcare services include the 15-bed emergency maternal tent facility which was funded by the United Nations Funding for Population at Philippine Society for Responsible Parenthood. This facility will cater to Covid-19 positive maternal patients who are asymptomatic and those experiencing mild symptoms.

Also included in the recently inaugurated facilities is the 15-bed capacity temporary treatment and monitoring facility constructed by the Unity in Isolation, a charity group which constructs isolation tents in major hospitals across the country.

Hernandez also inaugurated the P13-M road network project which connects the San Pedro City District Hospital to the municipal road. The construction of the access road was funded by the Laguna provincial government. — FC, PIA4A (with reports from Laguna PIO)
