100 public schools start limited F2F classes

MANILA, (PIA) -- At least 100 public schools in COVID-19 "safe areas" started the implementation of face-to-face (F2F) classes on Monday.

Schoolchildren go through stringent health protocols as in-person classes open in some public schools in the country.

The Department of Education (DepEd) commenced the pilot implementation of limited F2F classes amid the coronavirus pandemic.

At least 100 public schools nationwide are implementing the in-person classes.

DepEd expressed its appreciation to all stakeholders who supported its decision.

"We are grateful to the assistance of the Department of Health (DOH), the IATF, child health experts, local government units, international and local partners, school personnel, parents, and other stakeholders for reinforcing our shared responsibility framework in this critical undertaking,” the DepEd said.

The education department added that more schools will participate in the pilot run in the coming days. (PIA-NCR)
