DILG 12 spearheads ‘Dagyaw 2021’

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) – In line with the government’s continuous effort to reach communities and bring public services closer to the people, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office XII, along with its partner agencies will spearhead ‘Dagyaw 2021: Open Government and Participatory Governance' Virtual Town Hall Meeting on November 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

“Dagyaw” primarily aims to strengthen the public's trust in the government through open and public dialogues co-designed with civil society and with a focus on timely, relevant and emerging issues.

Dagyaw 2021: “Serye sa Dose – Usapang Debolusyon at Bakuna” underscores the implementation of Mandanas-Garcia Ruling or the full devolution of basic services and facilities from the national government to local government units (LGUs) starting next year, including the increased share of LGUs in all national taxes and revenues under Executive Order 138 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte early this year.

Furthermore, experts from the Department of Health will give updates on the vaccination program towards the goal of reaching population protection.

The public is invited to join the activity by following DILG Rehiyon Dose on Facebook or register via https://bit.ly/R12Dagyaw2021 or visit www.dagyaw-reg-portal.com/

Dagyaw is a Hiligaynon term for “Bayanihan” which brings the concept of “togetherness”. This series of Dagyaw is headed by the DILG and Department of Budget and Management (DBM) in partnership with the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and Mahintana Foundation Inc. (ORVR)
