ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal (PIA)-- The Department of Trade and Industry launches its One Town One Product (OTOP) PH Hub in Rizal at the agency's Tindahang Rizalenyo, Antipolo City in a bid to support local MSMEs.
DTI-Rizal Provincial Director Desiderio Jurado III says during the launch held November 24 that the hub aims to provide quality and standards-compliant OTOP products through both a physical and online store in partnership with the Samahan ng mga Rizalenyo sa Sektor ng Agrikultura at Pagkain (SARAP) and Rizal Exporters and Manufacturers Association Inc. (REMAI).
"As of today we have 54 MSMEs participating in our OTOP Hub and we are excited for the products on interested entrepreneurs form other provinces and regions," says Director Jurado.
Director Jurado locals, nearby agencies and colleges frequent Tindahang Rizalenyo's locally-made products for christmas shopping and gifts.
Prior to its launch as an OTOP PH Hub, Tindahang Rizalenyo is DTI-Rizal's local lifestyle store located at the agency's provincial office which showcases Rizal-made products.
The shop's online platform, which was launched earlier this 2021 can be accessed through https://tindahangrizalenyo.com for an end-to-end marketing platform which includes ordering, payment and delivery of the products nationwide.
"With our commitment to Serbisyong Higit Pa sa Inaasahan, we are inspired by our MSMEs who continue to strive, bounce back and and innovate in this time of the pandemic," says Jurado.
DTI 4A Regional Director Marilou Quinco-Toledo highlights the need for businesses to digitalize their processes in order to move forward.
Director Toledo adds that the Rizal OTOP Hub in particular is now equipped in terms of digital systems but the agency plans to observe how processes may be improved in order to further increase sales.
DTI Assistant Secretary for Regional Operations Group Demphna Du-Naga who served as the event's guest-of-honor commended the DTI 4A's initiatives to strengthen MSMEs through the OTOP PH Hub.
Also present during the launch are Rizal Board Member Alexander Marquez, Antipolo City Counsilor Susan Say, Antipolo City Councilor Agnes Oldan, SARAP President Charo Ola, REMAI President Dante Caoile and DTI Calabarzon Provincial Directors. (GG/PIA-Rizal)
