BORONGAN CITY (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Eastern Samar is “all systems go” for the 3-day National COVID-19 Vaccination Days or Bayanihan Bakunahan.
In the final briefing on November 24, as part of the provincial government’s efforts to employ the whole-of-society approach and whole-of-government approach and to cultivate the Bayanihan spirit, all national agencies, Local Government Units (LGUs), and stakeholders attended and took part in planning how to achieve the province’s target.
According to Provincial Administrator Nelson F. Cortez, there will be 24,822 Eastern Samareños to be inoculated per day from November 29 to December 1, 2021, or a total of 74,466 Eastern Samareños.
He then encouraged all LGUs to have a massive listing of all individuals to be inoculated in their barangays.
He said Gov. Ben P. Evardone, required all LGUs to submit their actual list; individuals who have already been vaccinated and those unvaccinated individuals, not only estimates.
“The governor wants that the vaccination sites should be in the barangays,” Cortez added.
As per the latest data of the Department of Health 8, some 199,898 individuals or 55.9% of the target population of 357,904 of E. Samar have been vaccinated for the 1st dose while 42% are fully vaccinated.
The Provincial Health Office has given the Local Government Unit their target per day. There will be 53 vaccination sites in Eastern Samar. The vaccination sites shall fully operate for three days, for 8-12 hours per day, said Cortez.
He said that each site shall have one doctor. As there is a lack of doctors, the provincial government of Eastern Samar will provide the doctors.
He also encouraged the private health care workers in the private hospitals to volunteer.
As for the national line agencies, all agencies are committed to support the 3-day vaccination days by any means or in any capacity.
“We will work together to reach the common goal,” Cortez said.
The launching of the 3 -day National Vaccination Days will be held on November 29 at 9 a.m. at the Provincial Gymnasium, Capitol site. There is a short program. After the program, a motorcade will follow to signal the start of the 3-day National Vaccination Days. (NBQ/SDC/PIA-E. Samar)
