CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) -- Quezon City Police District (QCPD) headed by its District Director, PBGen Antonio C Yarra, celebrated its 82nd Founding Anniversary on Saturday at the QCPD Grandstand, Camp PMGen Tomas B Karingal, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City with the theme: “Sambisig ng Lungsod at Kapulisan Para sa Kapayapaan, Kaligtasan, at Kaunlaran: Gabay sa Tungkuling Alay.”
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte graced the celebration as the guest of honor and speaker, together with PLtGen Bernabe Balba, the Director for Integrated Police Operations – Visayas, PBGen Jon A Arnaldo, the Deputy Regional Director for Operations of National Capital Region Police Office, other PNP officials, Quezon City officials, other distinguished guests and visitors.
One of the highlights of the program was the giving of Karingal Award and special recognitions to uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, units, Government Organizations (GOs) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) for their outstanding achievements that immensely contributed to the accomplishment of the plans and programs of the QCPD.
Awardees for this year’s anniversary were: PCol Christopher F Olazo, Senior Police Commissioned Officer of the Year; PCol Teresita V Escamillan, District Directorial Staff Officer of the Year; PLtCol Richard Ian T Ang, Junior Police Commissioned Officer of the Year; PMaj Wennie Ann A Cale, Police Woman of the Year; PSMS Roland C Aumentado, Senior Police Non-Commissioned of the Year; PSSg Russel E Reyes, Junior Police Non-Commissioned of the Year; PCpl An Francis V Calacday, Patrol Officer of the Year; NUP Carina M Gatchalian, Non-Uniformed Personnel of the Year; and PA Ma. Vergenia A. Balmaceda, Police Aide of the Year.
Meanwhile, Unit Awardees were: District Comptrollership Division, District Directorial Staff of the Year; Novaliches Police Station 4, Police Station of the Year; Police Community Precinct 1 of Fairview Police Station 5, Police Community Precinct of the Year; Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, District Operating Unit of the Year; and District Medical and Dental Unit, District National Administrative Support Unit of the Year.
