NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) -- The Biliran Police Provincial Office (BPPO) noted decreasing cases of Violence Against Women (VAW) for the last four consecutive years.
At the PIA-Biliran’s Pulong-Pulong Ng Bayan over Radyo Natin-Naval, PSSG Neneng Salarza of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of BPPO, disclosed 29 VAW cases in 2018, down to 27 cases in 2019, 23 cases in 2020, and 20 cases from January to October of 2021.
PCMS Disma Ebajan, WCDP chief of Naval Police Station, stressed the participation of men in the dialogues and fora in thier campaign in ending violence against women.
"Men’s involvement in the campaign on VAW is rooted from the BPPO’s MOVE (Men Opposed to VAW Everywhere) which they cascaded down to the municipal police stations," said Salarza.
PCapt and Attorney Kent Rigel Manzanes, Biliran legal officer, assured the victims and those concerned not to be afraid to report incidents of violence to authorities or the police in particular because they are at all times ready to rescue and provide protection.

The entire police force in the province of Biliran joined the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women from November 25 until December 12 where all policewomen intensified their information campaign thru lectures and symposia, house to house visitation, inter-agency coordinations, and other inter-personal activities.
