CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) -- San Juan City has been recognized by the Bureau of Local Government Finance as one of the top performing local government units in locally sourced revenue collection in the Philippines for the Fiscal Year 2020.

It ranked first among all the cities in NCR in terms of efficiently collecting government taxes, collecting P1,731,860,000.00, 137.1% of its target of P1,262,800,000.00 and third nationwide.

“This list is a proof that our citizens’ taxes go to the city coffers and are being used for the benefit of San Juaneños,” Mayor Zamora said.

“I would like to thank all our taxpayers and assure them that their hard-earned money will be used for the continuity of all our projects and programs under our Makabagong San Juan,” he added.

Mayor Zamora also vows to improve the city’s collection strategies to make it easier for residents and business owners to pay their taxes.

“This is proof that our Makabagong San Juan works really hard and provides honest and efficient services to our people,” Mayor Zamora said. (PIA-NCR)
