PARAÑAQUE CITY, (PIA) -- Taguig City brightened up various landmarks in the city through a simultaneous Christmas Lighting Ceremony in Arca South, Mercado del Lago and Taguig City Hall on Thursday night, December 9.
The lighting ceremony became more special this year as it highlights the rise and hope of Taguigeños despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mayor Lino Cayetano, Cong. Alan Peter Cayetano, Cong. Lani Cayetano, alongside Vice Mayor Ricardo “Ading” Cruz Jr., Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and city councilors.
In his speech, Mayor Lino thanked the healthcare workers for their dedication in the vaccination drive of the city: “Taguig is one of the fastest cities to inoculate its citizens. We have done almost 1.3 million jabs. Many thanks to our excellent doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers because of their heroism, it is now possible for Taguigeño families to celebrate Christmas [this year].”
The location was filled with Christmas lights and displays that symbolized Christ as being the glare and radiance of the world.
Aside from the lighting ceremony, citizens also virtually witnessed a dazzling fireworks display via a live broadcast on the I Love Taguig Facebook Page. The ceremony ended with a song and dance performance by talented Taguigeños.
Meanwhile, Taguig City continues to distribute Pamaskong Handog packages for all Taguigeño families where people are reminded of the sense of sharing to the family and community this holiday season. (PIA-NCR)
