Trece Martires, Cavite (PIA) – The local government of Tanza thru its Municipal Health Office was recently recognized for its outstanding performance during the three-day conduct of the National Vaccination Drive on November 29 – December 1, 2021.

Department heads Secretary Francisco Duque III of the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Jhonatan Malaya, and the National Task Force on CoViD-19 Secretary Carlito Galvez and Secretary Vince Dizon led the awarding ceremony for the provinces, cities, and municipalities with the most number of CoViD-19 vaccine jabs administered. 

Tanza local chief executive Yuri A. Pacumio together with Municipal Health Officer Dr. Ruth Punzalan personally received the Certificate of Recognition and a cheque for P25,000 awarded to the LGU for its achievement of distributing a total of 25,277 CoViD-19 vaccine jabs during the three days of vaccine distribution.

The Tanza town placed second among the top three municipalities that has distributed the most number of vaccine jabs during the national vaccination campaign drive with the municipality of Rodriguez in Rizal province in first place administering a total of 30,383 jabs while Arayat town in the province of Pampanga came in third administering a total of 20,955 vaccine jabs.  

Meanwhile, Mayor Yuri Pacumio expressed his appreciation to the medical frontliners and volunteers in partnership with the healthworkers of the Rural Health Unit of Tanza for their dedication and efforts to bring the protection to their fellow Tanzeños and to achieve the herd immunity of the municipality as well.
