ZAMBOANGA CITY, Dec 18 (PIA) – The first Regional Outstanding Communicators Award (ROCA) acknowledges all the efforts and innovations of regional and local information officers in Region IX amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Mindanao Communicators Network Inc. (MINDACOMNET)- IX and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)- IX conducted the first ROCA on Friday (December 17) in Zamboanga City.

The awards include the outstanding information volunteer, best barangay information officer and municipal information officer, best implementer of barangay information officer network and municipal information officer network, local government public information officer of the year and the regional information officer of the year.

Moreover, the MINDACOMNET IX and PIA IX also extended their grateful appreciation to all the partners for the contributions and to recognize their efforts above and beyond the call of duty in ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate and relevant information.

The President of MINDACOMNET IX and also the Information Officer of Commission on Population Celcil Abuy is hopeful that for the coming years, the organization will still continue the ROCA to acknowledge all communicators in the region, “this year has been challenging, but we all see the efforts of our information officers from different agencies and LGU’s,” he added. 

Angelita Chua-Elloren of Department of Information and Communication Technology IX, the awardee for first Regional Information Officer of the year was grateful to the MINDACOMNET IX for the recognition and also she was thankful to their agency for the empowerment and trust.
