MAASIN CITY (PIA) -- The province of Southern Leyte moves into post-disaster relief and rehabilitation due to Typhoon Odette.
It continues its efforts in handling the devastating aftermath of Typhoon Odette in the province through the addition of two clusters in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
The two newly-organized clusters are the Post Disaster Assessment and Needs Analysis (PDANA), and the Temporary Shelter Cluster as initial steps for the long-term recovery and rehabilitation.
The PDANA takes over the task of the Rapid Disaster Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA), which had submitted its final report to the EOC last week, December 22, said Danilo Atienza, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management officer, during the 8th EOC meeting Monday evening at the capitol.
Atienza said the PDANA, which was organized Monday afternoon, is composed of four sectors, namely: social sector headed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development; infra sector headed by the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Provincial Engineering Office; productive sector led by the Department of Agriculture; and the education sector led by the Department of Education.
These sectors are expected to report their respective outputs to the EOC on Jan. 4, 2022 for submission to the governor and to the national government, Atienza, who acts as PDANA coordinator, explained.
The temporary shelter cluster, meanwhile, is headed by Engr. Nelson Tan, provincial engineer, for the primary task of gathering materials for dwelling needs of people who lost their houses, Atienza said. (LDL/MMP/PIA8-Southern Leyte)
