150 Biliran IPDWA members complete TESDA trainings

NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) -- Some 150 members of the Integrated Peace and Development Workers Association (IPDWA) in the Province of Biliran have completed from the different TESDA livelihood skills training.

Imelda Malatbalat, TESDA Biliran provincial director and the provincial chairperson of the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) of the Biliran PTF-ELCAC, emphasized to the graduates to make use of the learnings gained so that government investment will not be wasted.

The TESDA provincial chief also encouraged the completers to establish networking among the municipal IPDWAs for easy and fast facilitation on the update in the implementation of their respective projects.

Based on the report from TESDA Biliran Provincial Office as of January 3, 2022, the following are the municipal IPDWAs, training qualifications availed, training period, number of days, and number of members who have availed.

Culaba IPDWA with 25 members availed of the training on Animal Production (Poultry-Chicken) NC II for 32 days from September 23- November 8, 2021; Caibiran IPDWA with 20 members who have availed of the training on Animal Production (Poultry-Chicken) NC II for 32 days from October 13-November 26, 2021; Cabucgayan IPDWA with 20 members who have availed of the training on Animal Production (Poultry-Chicken) NC II for 32 days from October 13-November 26, 2021; Kawayan IPDWA with 15 members who have availed of the training on Organic Agriculture Production (OAP) NC II for 29 days from September 27-November 4, 2021.

Biliran IPDWA with 15 members who have availed of the training on Organic Agriculture Production (OAP) NC II for 29 days from October 4-November 9, 2021; Almeria IPDWA with 15 members who have availed of the training on Animal Production (Swine) NC II for 39 days from October 18-December 9, 2021; Naval IPDWA with 15 members who have availed of the training on Artificial Insemination (Swine) NC II for 22 days from October 18-November 16, 2021; and Barangay Libtong IPDWA Naval with 25 members who have availed of the training on Organic Agriculture Production (OAP) for 29 days from November 17-December 28, 2021.

Some IPDWA members who have completed trainings will have their graduation within the first quarter of 2022.

These are from Barangay Tamarindo, Almeria with 25 members who have completed their 29 days training on Organic Agriculture Production (OAP) NC II from November 18-December 29, 2021; Culaba IPDWA (2nd training) with 20 members who have completed their 29 days training for Organic Agriculture Production (AOP) NC II from December 9, 2021-January 18, 2022; and the Cabucgayan IPDWA (2nd training) with 25 members who are still training for 28 days, from December 28, 2021-February 4, 2022.

Some seven IPDWAs have completed the orientation while four IPDWAs will still have their scheduled orientation this year with the provincial office of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) in Biliran as an enhancement training on how to improve the operations of their associations.

Meanwhile, the provincial office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conducted capability building training for some IPDWAs last year.

The members of the IPDWAs from the different towns undergoing training received P160 daily allowance from TESDA.

Those IPDWA members with an on-going training will also receive the same amount of daily allowance.

The 93rd Infantry Battalion with BGen. Zosimo A. Oliveros, brigade commander, and Col. Noel Vistuir, deputy brigade commander, and other key officials of the 802nd (Peerless) Brigade of the Philippine Army were always present during the graduation ceremonies held last year. (NBQ/RSV/PIA Biliran)
