NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) – As an innovation, the Philippine Information Agency - Biliran Provincial Information Center recently launched its regular program Pulong-Pulong ng Bayan through online platforms.
For many years, PIA Biliran’s weekly Pulong-Pulong ng Bayan was aired over Radyo Natin-Naval every Thursday starting at 11 a.m. until noon.
This year, the Pulong-Pulong ng Bayan continues on same weekly schedule, this time, via Zoom platform and shared live in the official Facebook page of PIA Biliran, PIA Regional Office 8 and five other FB pages of PIA-8 Provincial Information Centers, the BILINET, Naval Cable, Radyo Natin, and the guest Agency’s official FB page.
PSA Biliran Chief Renavil V. Cueva and Estrellita Santolorin, municipal civil registrar of LGU-Almeria and the president of the Association of Biliran Civil Registry Personnel, were the guests during the maiden episode with topic highlighting this year’s celebration of the Civil Registration Month.
In line with the 32nd Civil Registration Month this February, Santolorin urges all those affected by simulated birth to avail of the benefits provided for in Republic Act No. 11222, an Act allowing the rectification of simulated birth records and prescribing administrative adoption proceedings for the purpose.
Santolorin said this law remains in effect within 10 years only from its effectivity on March 29, 2019 until March 29, 2029.
For more information, interested and concerned persons may visit the nearest local civil registrar, said Santolorin.
The next guest of the online Pulong-Pulong ng Bayan episode is PLt. Col. Teodora Salarza, provincial community affairs and development unit chief of the Biliran Police Provincial Office.
The Pulong-Pulong ng Bayan episodes are replayed every 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the BILINET's local Channel 8, and every 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Channel 6 of the Naval Cable, said Rodrigo Victoria, information center manager of PIA-Biliran. (LDL/MLT/PIA 8 Biliran)
