CATARMAN, Northern Samar (PIA) – The intensified anti-criminality drive of the Northern Samar Provincial Police Office (NSPPO) has arrested 106 individuals during their-weeklong operations.
This was learned from Col. Alfredo Tadefa, NSPPO provincial director during the PIA Huruhimangraw sa Panginudto radio program on February 9.
Tadefa said the anti-crime operations from January 28 to February 4 resulted in the arrest of 106 individuals for various crimes committed.
Of the 106 arrested individuals, 57 are most wanted persons/other wanted persons while 42 were arrested for illegal gambling, illegal logging, and illegal fishing. Some seven (7) persons were arrested for other law enforcement operations.
Another 21 individuals have surrendered their firearms while their license to carry are still on process, he said.
“The government forces are in close coordination with each other, and everyone in the organization is alerted to avert any untoward incident to happen again, that is why more intense checkpoint operations in critical areas within the province is regularly conducted,” he said.
Tadefa also said that increased police visibility will decrease public’s fear of crime, lower the victimization risk, and strengthen the police community relations.
The new PNP provincial director vowed to conduct more stringent operations to combat all forms of criminality and in preparation for the forthcoming national and local elections. (LDL/TBC/PIA Northern Samar)
