All systems go for 2022 national and local elections

CATARMAN, Northern Samar (PIA) -- Commission on Election (COMELEC) Provincial Election Supervisor, Atty. Juan Bautista Beato Jr., said it's all systems go for the national and local elections on May 9.

This he said during the PIA’s Huruhimangraw sa Panginudto radio program at TJ FM on Wednesday, February 16.

He said COMELEC made the necessary preparations to ensure a peaceful and orderly elections come May 9.

Beato informed that the training of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) is set on February 21 to ensure that Election Boards have adequate competencies in using the ballot reader and various automated equipment and machines under the automated election system (AES).

“We have already coordinated with the Department of Education and I am confident that the teachers chosen to compose the Election Board is based on the criteria set by the Commission on Elections,” Beato said.

He added that the 2022 election guidelines were already cascaded to the Municipal Election Officers for them to know and brief the candidates in their jurisdiction.

He then told that a joint command conference was conducted with the officers and men of 803rd Brigade and Philippine National Police.

The election supervisor assured the public that contingency measures are in place and the commission is ready for the upcoming national and local elections.

The province has 453,620 registered voters with 858 clustered precincts and 477 voting centers. (LDL/TBC/PIA Northern Samar)
