IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay, Mar 7 (PIA) - Business sector in Dumingag town, Zamboanga Del Sur continues to benefit from tax incentives and holidays as local government unit's (LGU) assistance. This is also part of the LGU's response to help the business community in the municipality thrive during the pandemic.

During the Network Briefing News, Dumingag town mayor Joan Abejuela said that the business in her municipality during the height of  COVID19 has been hard. In response to the situation, Sangguniang Bayan (SB) members approved an ordiance granting tax incentives and holidays on rents for businessmen.

Mayor Abejuela said the effort is part of the LGU’s reform and recovery agenda for the business sector.

“Noong nakaraan, may mga lockdowns kami, halimbawa, every Sunday, maraming establishments ang kailangan magsara that time; and having this kind of ordinance have greatly helped the sector, and somehow ease the situation," she shared.

The lady mayor said, the LGU also initiated the conduct of Entrepreneurial Competency Seminar “para ma-guide sila sa mga documents na kailangan nila to establish their business.”

“Pinakamalaking nagawa namin as to the reform for business sector ay ang module one ng entrepreneurial competency seminar,  kung saan lahat ng business owners ay nag enroll talaga sa training,” she said, as she takes pride of this initiative that what she considered as a huge recovery effort for the sector. 

She called on the locals to bring their vaccination cards when they go visit these activities, “ ito yung magsisilbing ticket nila sa ibat-ibang activities na kanilang pupuntahan.” (RVC/JPA/PIA9-Zamboanga Sibugay)
