QUEZON CITY, (PIA) --This April, celebrate the country’s rich culinary heritage and enhance your farm-to-table skills!
The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) are one with the nation in commemorating this year’s Filipino Food Month (FFM), highlighting the need to promote and preserve Filipino cuisine and delicacies in the entire food value chain context.
For the whole month, ATI’s network of training centers, together with other DA attached agencies and bureaus will provide a series of free webinars on some local dishes and treats from different parts of the country, showcasing Philippine culture and identity.
The public is advised to visit the ATI’s Facebook and Instagram pages for this upcoming FFM Webinar Series and some other updates and announcements in line with the celebration.
Apart from these, various Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita outlets are mobilized by the DA featuring fresh and locally sourced products.
Other activities to be expected during the celebration are the KainCon Filipino Food Conference, Cinema Culinarya Film Festival, and Hapag ng Pamana, among others, organized by the Department of Tourism, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement.
This year's FFM is anchored on the theme "Pagkaing Pilipino, Susi sa Pag-unlad at Pagbabago.”
Through Presidential Proclamation no. 469, signed in 2018, April of every year is declared as the “Filipino Food Month” or “Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino”. (DA/PIA-NCR)
