CEBU CITY, April 22 (PIA) -- The Social Security System (SSS) visited erring employers in its back-to-back Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) operations in the cities of Cebu and Talisay on April 22.
Sixteen employers were identified based on the reports of SSS Cebu and SSS Talisay branches, citing violations under R.A. 11199 or the Social Security Act 2018.
The 16 employers were tagged for non-remittance of contributions and non-reporting of additional employees.
A total of P6,288,541.17 premium contributions is expected to be collected from the operations.
SSS Visayas Central 1 Division Head Atty. Alberto Montalbo said SSS is coordinating with various local government units (LGUs) to identify more delinquent employers and monitor their compliance as mandated by the law.
Montalbo said, “within the first fourth months of 2022, we already conducted four RACE operations here in Central Visayas where we visited a total of 29 employers. This only shows that SSS is doing its best in securing the welfare of its members by ensuring employer compliance and collection efficiency.”
“The operation is also aimed at informing our employers of our ongoing condonation programs for delinquent employers who wish to settle their delinquencies with flexible payment terms,” said Montalbo.
SSS is currently offering the Pandemic Relief and Restructuring Programs (PRRPs) for employers to conveniently settle their contribution delinquencies.
Among these programs are "PRRP 2: Condonation of Penalties on SSS Contributions," which covers the applicable months of March 2020 onwards.
Qualified employers can settle their delinquencies through full payment or installment and have the accrued penalties waived.
Applicants can submit their application on or before May 19, 2022.
Meanwhile, delinquent employers have the option to avail of the "PRRP 3: Enhanced Installment Payment Program" with installment payment terms ranging from nine to 60 months, depending on the total amount of past-due SSS and Employees' Compensation contributions.
The program will run until Nov. 22, 2022.

“SSS will be staging more RACE operations in the region in the coming months, following the instruction from PCEO Michael Regino to intensify coverage and contribution collection efforts,” said Montalbo.
He encouraged the member-employers to coordinate with their respective SSS Account Officers the soonest possible time to verify their standing with SSS. (HFG/PIA7 with reports from SSS)
