DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, May 6 (PIA) -- Dumaguete City has confirmed that no new COVID-19 case has been reported for almost two weeks and all of the city’s 30 component barangas remain free from COVID-19.
Of the 5,806 total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the city was affected by the pandemic from Jan. 30, 2020 to May 5, 2022, 5,640 have recovered and 166 deaths were reported.
Meanwhile, adult walk-in clients can now get their booster shots (Moderna) or 1st dose (Sinovac) at the City Health Office-Main or at the newly-inaugurated City Health Office 2 in Brgy. Talay.
The City Health Office also announced that vaccination using Pfizer vaccine for healthy children aged 5-11 years old is scheduled every Monday-Wednesday and Friday, while for those aged 12-17, it is set every Tuesday and Thursday at the Robinson Place Dumaguete.
Dumaguete City obtained the highest vaccination rate of 141.56% in Central Visayas, exceeding the 80.67% goal for herd immunity.
The city has vaccinated 157,619 residents and workers, higher than the target of 111,348 individuals as of May 4. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental with reports from CPIO)
