QC police deployed outside of House, parts of Commonwealth

PASIG CITY, (PIA) -- Quezon City Police District (QCPD) personnel and force multipliers from the QC Local Government Unit were alerted to maintain security around the House of Representatives.

This, after military trucks brought Certificates of Canvass and Election Return to the House of Representatives.

The sergeant-at-arms went over it one by one to make sure that the ballots received from the Senate were correct.

It is possible that it will take three hours to receive the Certificates of Canvass and Election Return.

On Tuesday, May 24, the Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), is expected to begin counting for the president and vice president.

At the same time, authorities are waiting for a possible lighting rally by militant groups.

The QCPD has deployed police personnel and were stationed from the Commission on Human Rights Office along Commonwealth to the Batasang Pambansa to provide security. (PIA-NCR)
