CALOOCAN CITY (PIA) --Informants under the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) Operation: Private Eye (OPE) received a total of P9.6 million as monetary reward for providing information that led to successful anti-drug operations.
OPE is a reward and incentive scheme designed to encourage private citizens to report to PDEA any suspected illegal drug activities in their community
PDEA Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva personally thanked the informants identified only through their codenames
Shaider received P1,253,316.34 for information that resulted in the seizure of 15,982.71 grams of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride or shabu and the arrest of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation along Kalayaan Avenue, Barangay West Rembo, Makati City on March 8, 2021.
Bonky received P675,682.47 for providing information that resulted in the seizure of 9,989.10 grams of shabu and the neutralization of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation along Nepomuceno Street, Katarungan Village 1, Phase 2, Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa City on May 23, 2021;
Dream received P2,000,000.00 for information that resulted in the seizure of 74,888.10 grams of shabu and the neutralization of a drug personality during a buy-bust operation at Warehouse No. 3, Grand SG Summit Development Corp. Compound, Brgy. Santol, Balagtas, Bulacan on August 1, 2021; Another P2,000,000.00 was received by informant Dream whose information resulted in the seizure of 47,845.94 grams of shabu and the arrest of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation at Block 6, Lot 2, Topacio Street, Brgy. Magdalo, Imus, Cavite on September 9, 2021.
Dream received another P213,582.98 for the information provided that led to the seizure of 4,981.31 grams of shabu during a buy-bust operation at Block 1, Lot 17, Country Homes Woodsrow, Talon Dos, Las Pinas City on September 18, 2021. He received another P277,688.40 for information that resulted in the seizure of 5,002.13 grams of shabu and the arrest of a drug personality during a buy-bust operation along C5 Extension, Barangay Manuyo 1, Las Pinas City on September 25, 2021.
Another P2,000,000.00 was received by informant Dream for providing information that led to the seizure of 146,480 grams of shabu and the arrest of three drug personalities during a buy-bust operation at Block 16, Lot 9, Manager’s Drive Executive 1, Barangay Molino 3, Bacoor City, Cavite on October 1, 2021.
Informant Talahib received P279,473.22 by providing information that resulted in the seizure of 46,578.87 grams of dried marijuana plants and the arrest of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation at C-6 Service Road, Brgy. New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City on September 18, 2021.
Informant Dennis received P46,022.83 for information that led to the seizure of 522.14 grams of shabu and the arrest of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in Daang Hari, Ayala, Alabang, Muntinlupa City on October 6, 2021. He received another P396,628.03 for providing information that resulted in the seizure of 4,981.29 grams of shabu at Unit 11-325 Fountain Breeze, Lombos Avenue, Brgy. San Isidro, Sucat, Parañaque City on October 7, 2021.
Informant Kefot received P500,000.00 for providing information that resulted in the seizure of 91,515.20 grams of dried marijuana leaves and stalks and the arrest of a drug personality during a buy-bust operation in Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet on November 18, 2021.
During the ceremony, the informants were required to wear masks to protect their identity.
The Private Eye Rewards Committee, composed of members from the academe, non-government organizations, law enforcement, religious and business sectors, approved the resolution granting monetary rewards to the six informants after careful deliberation following the result of the purity test conducted on the confiscated dangerous drugs.
“PDEA will never stop in its promise to the Filipino people of a drug resistant and self-policing communities as we extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all law enforcement agencies, our partners and stakeholders, and to the Filipino people for their continued support to PDEA”, Villanueva said, stressing the importance of active public participation in the successful implementation of the anti-drug campaign.
