QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Valenzuela City Government will soon open the newly designed Fatima Avenue, which would ban motor vehicles and only admit pedestrians.
Outgoing City Mayor Rex Gatchalian, and incoming District 1 representative, said the new pedestrian-only avenue in Barangay Marulas would be transformed into a linear park where people could walk, jog or bike. It would also have outdoor dining areas and benches.
The avenue, which leads to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, will be entirely closed to vehicular traffic.
The city government sealed off the road to motorists late last year. (PIA-NCR)
