QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Good news! The City Government of Pasig is among the local government units (LGU) who received the 2021 Good Financial Housekeeping.

“We are very proud of this! Salamat sa mga masisipag nating kawani ng LGU. Ang mukhang hindi natin makukuha para sa 2021 ay yung Seal of Good Local Governance. We pass most indicators, but some of our funds are underutilized,” said Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto on Monday.

Sotto cited the cleanup in the local government unit that resulted to more savings for the city.

“A good problem to have -- because of our LGU cleanup, we saved a lot; now we work on using these extra funds.”

Joining Pasig City in the National Capital Region are the cities of Las Piñas, Makati, Muntinlupa, Pasay and Quezon City.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping is awarded in recognition of the LGU’s performance in the areas of financial transparency, fiscal accountability. (Pasig City/PIA-NCR)
