KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will have a new home here with the opening of the Regional Field Office XII building located at the Regional Center in Brgy. Carpenter Hill on Friday. 

DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista led the inauguration of the three-storey building worth P30 million which will house the Agency Operations Center (AOC) and other offices. 

The AOC will serve as a command center for faster delivery of social welfare and development programs during a disaster and other health outbreaks. 

DSWD XII regional director Restituto Macuto said the new regional office building provides a safe, secure and more conducive space for employees and clients.

“The field office 12 has grown into a bigger family with over 1,627 active employees that is why this newly completed building will give better space for their professional and organizational objectives," Director Macuto said.

Apart from the AOC, the new building will host the Administrative and Financial Services, Human Resource and Management, Supplies and Logistics and the Office of the Regional Director.

Initial construction for the building started in 2017. (ORVR with reports from DSWD XII)
