BORONGAN CITY (PIA) -- A total of P1.8 million in sales were generated from 70 exhibitors of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of Eastern Samar who participated in the Dukwag Agri-Aqua Trade Fair and Livestock Expo on June 13-20 held at Baybay Boulevard, this city.
This was learned from Ruthelma Samonte, DTI provincial director, adding that the event had surpassed its target by more P800,000.
Along with the trade fair event, also called Tabo-an ha Baybay Beach, the city government invited various resource persons to conduct workshops and seminars, sharing their expertise in entrepreneurship, particularly in food processing, handicrafts, furniture making, business registration, and e-commerce.
The week-long activity aims to generate sales, encourage MSMEs to showcase, promote, and support the local products of the city and to encourage more aspiring entrepreneurs through agriculture, Samonte said.
She added that based on the selling report, the top selling exhibitors are the following: Bato E-Bamboo Craft for Dukwag Trade Exhibitors, Divina Ornamental Plants for Dukwag Agri Exhibitors, AGRIEWELLS Marketing Cooperative for CARP Trade Exhibitors, Far East Integrated Farmer’s Association for CARP Agri Exhibitors, and KimDrew’s Food Products as Best Dressed Booth.
Samonte further said that the total sales of the 70 exhibitors by category are as follows: Dukwag Trade Exhibitors with P349,921 sales, Dukwag Agri-Exhibitors with P812,076 sales, CARP Trade Exhibitors with P529,036 sales, and CARP Agri Exhibitors wih P108,769 sales.
The said event was organized by the City Government of Borongan through City Mayor Jose Ivan “Dayan” C. Agda in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry – Eastern Samar Field Office (DTI-ESFO) through Samonte. (MMP/SDC/PIA Eastern Samar)
