ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal (PIA)-- Incoming Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares along with local representatives, provincial officials and chief executives take their oaths at the Ynares Event Center this June 25.
Rizal 1st District Representative Jack Duavit, 3rd District Representative Jojo Garcia, Antipolo City 1st District Representative Robbie Puno, Vice Governor Reynaldo "Junrey" San Juan Jr. and provincial board members join the governor-elect and other city and municipal mayors at the ceremonal oath-taking.
Local chief executives taking their oaths include Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro "Jun" Ynares III, Antipolo City Vice Mayor Josefina "Pining" Gatlabayan, Angono Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon, Baras Mayor Willy Robles, Binangonan Mayor Cesar Ynares, Cainta Mayor Elen Nieto, Cardona Mayor Bernardo "Jun" San Juan Jr., Jalajala Mayor Elmer Pillas, Morong Mayor Sidney Soriano, Pililla Mayor Dan Masinsin, Rodriguez (Montalban Mayor) Ronnie Evangelista, San Mateo Mayor Bartolome "Omie" Rivera, Tanay Mayor Lito Tanjuatco, Taytay Mayor Allan De Leon and, Teresa Mayor Rodel Dela Cruz.
After swearing in of oaths, outgoing Governor Rebecca "Nini" Ynares passed the Provincial Flag to her daughter and incoming governor as a symbol of a change in leadership.
In her valedictory speech, Gov. Nini Ynares likened Rizaleño leaders and personnel as a harmonious orchestra which she has led throughout her term.
"You (incoming Governor Nina Ynares) will now be the conductor of this orchestra of outstanding public servants," she states.
Gov. Ynares also highlighted various infrastructure and social welfare programs done during her three consecutive terms from 2013 to 2022 such as 2,000 classrooms constructed and numerous graduated government scholars 64 of whom are cum laudes, 2 magna cum laudes and 1 summa cum laude.
Rizal has also been awarded as the country's most competitive province for six consecutive years under leadership.
Incoming governor Nina Ynares thanked her supporters and delivered her inaugural speech after the outgoing governor's address.
Gov. Nina Ynares said during her inaugural speech that during the campaign period, they did not make promises they could not keep but instead promised that the government under her leadership will listen to the public and that the doors of the provincial capitol shall be open for all.
She adds that she is a firm believer that governance is about achieving results and thanked the outgoing administration for setting the bar high.
"I look forward to working for all of you. I look forward to working with you," she states.
Prior to her election as Governor, Nina Ynares served under the Board of Trustees at the Government Service Insurance System. (GG/PIA-Rizal)
