Tanay coop trained in calamansi & honey salabat making

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal (PIA)-- The Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agrarian Reform and Department of Trade and Industry recently trained several Tanay-based cooperative members in calamansi and honey infused salabat production.

Around 12 members of the Sampaloc Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SARBMPC) underwent the skills enhancement training to further improve their current products this June 16 at Barangay Sampaloc, Tanay.

DAR and the DTI Rizal provincial offices organized the meeting as part of the comprehensive agrarian reform program (CARP) while DOST-Rizal provided the resource speaker.

DOST- Industrial Trade Development Institute science research assistant Bienvenido Flores Jr served as the resource person for the one-day program.

The cooperative already produces and sells pure salabat tea, pure turmeric tea, salabat-turmeric tea and ginger candy prior to the training but seeks to enhance their current products through introducing new flavors.

SARBMPC has been a DOST Grants in Aid (GIA) beneficiary since 2017 and actively showcases their products in trade fairs both inside and outside the province. (GG/PIA-Rizal)
