New Surallah mayor calls for unity, cooperation

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- Mayor Pedro “Cano” Matinong Jr. enjoined government workers to unite and help his administration push for a better life for all residents of Surallah.

Mayor Matinong reiterated this call as he attended his first flag-raising ceremony as the town’s new local chief executive on Monday, July 4.

“We will work together to bring services for the betterment of our people,” Matinong said.

“Magtulungan tayo at magtrabaho ng tapat na parang isang pamilya. We will work together as a family para mabigay ang serbisyong nararapat para sa mga tao at mas lalo pang mapaunlad ang bayan ng Surallah,” he added.

Matinong bared his banner program "SMILE Surallah" which stands for Sustainable Management and Involvement of Localities for Economic Prosperity.

“SMILE Surallah focuses primarily on social services, manpower development, integrity, transparency, environment and economic development,” the official explained.

He also reminded local government employees to deliver efficient service to their constituents.

“We must serve the public with integrity, humility and compassion. By doing this, we can say we are worthy of public trust and confidence given to us,” he said. (PIA XII)
