KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Tboli town urged the public to register early and to not wait for the last minute to avoid congestion.
Nemia G. Espanola, Election Officer III of Comelec-Tboli said residents, especially the youth continue to flock their registration activities since its resumption on July 4.
Espanola said voter registration for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections will run up to July 23, from Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Comelec Tboli will also bring their services to far-flung barangays through the conduct of satellite registration to cater more residents.
Satellite registration for residents of Brgy. Mongocayo and Brgy. Basag is set on July 12; Brgy. Edwards and Brgy. Sinolon on July 13; Brgy. Maan on July 14; Brgy. Afus and Brgy. Desawo on July 15; Brgy. Laconon on July 16; Brgy. New Dumangas on July 18; Brgy. Datal Dlanag on July 19; Brgy. Kematu on July 20; Brgy. Tudok and Brgy. Salacafe on July 21; and Brgy. Poblacion, July 22 and 23.
The registration comes amid the coming barangay and SK elections slated for December 5, 2022.
The Comelec will be accepting new registrations, reactivation and transfer or correction of entry.
Filipinos who are at least 15 years old on or before the elections, but not more than 30 years of age can register for the SK elections. They also need to have resided in the barangay for not less than six months. (PIA XII)
