KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) — Eighteen Department of Trade and Industry-supported micro, small, and medium enterprises are spotlighted in the Bugal Tnalak Trade Fair at the KCC Mall of Marbel Events Center from July 11 to 18.
Bugal is a Hiigaynon term meaning “pride.”
“This is an opportune time to showcase locally made products of our MSMEs as well as promote these products in the market as we gradually return to new normal,” Elbert Capicio, chief Consumer Welfare Division of DTI-South Cotabato said.
Most of the featured exhibitors are food processors that are already food safety standards compliant or have been issued license to operate by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Food products on display and sold at reasonable prices include purple corn wine and drink, chocolate, cookies and pastries, vinegars and sauces, tinagtag, milk, taro chips and many others.
Tnalak bags, accessories, and wearables and handicrafts are also sold at the fair.
"The event is aligned with the DTI initiative to promote local products," he added.
Apart from product display, Bugal Tnalak Trade fair also offers seminars on business licensing procedure and financial literacy.
Capicio said that DTI South Cotabato invited expert lectures who will explain the profile, value chain, and health and wellness products of three major commodities: coconut, coffee, and cacao. These lectures are scheduled on July 11, July 12, and July 13, respectively.
A consumer protection booth was installed in the area to cater to inquiries from buyers, entrepreneurs, and those planning to venture into any business.
Bugal Tnalak Trade Fair is part of celebration of the 56th South Cotabato Foundation Anniversary and 23rd Tnalak Festival. It is separate from the regional agro- industrial trade fair at the Rizal Park, this city.
