DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, July 13 (PIA) -- The Dumaguete City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has completed its survey on comprehensive household database system and analytics in seven months covering all 30 barangays in the city.
This project is undertaken as Community-based Monitoring System with Disaster Risk Reduction and Management/Climate Change Adaptation Indicators to capture relevant population and household data that can be utilized in policy-making, program planning, poverty alleviation, calamity management, and other local government initiatives to better serve the public.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo lauded the project that will provide reliable and credible data of Dumaguete City to guide local officials and even national government agencies in the correct evaluation and review the programs, projects, and policies.
The census aims to boost the delivery of basic social services, make the community resilient from disasters, calamities and climate change, maintain peace and order, improve the education and health care system, address unemployment and lack of opportunities, enhance waste management, utilities and infrastructure.
City Public Information Officer Designate Katherine Aguilar said the newly completed census captures essential data and information of 29,164 households that included the demographic profile of the city.
The data gathered include housing characteristics, agriculture, utilities, disaster preparedness, poverty indicators, income report and other relevant data necessary for the formulation of economical, efficient and effective policies not only for the local government but also for those in the national government.
Aguilar said ByteLOGS technology is used in data gathering to produce credible, accurate, valid and consistent baseline data to ensure that programs, policies, and projects of the government are appropriate, effective, and truly responsive to the needs of the citizenry. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
