CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) -- The Officer-in-Charge of the Department of Health, Dr. Maria Rosario Vergeire has commended the Sta. Ana Hospital and Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital during her visit to the two facilities on Wednesday, July 21.
Vergeire cited the services provided by the hospital and the strong partnership of the LGU and the national government when it comes to providing health care services.
"Dito sa Sta. Ana Hospital, nakita natin na ang local government ay very innovative. This is the kind of quality that we want in our hospitals," Vergeire said.
"Sana ay maging halimbawa ito ng ibang mga local government hospitals, mai-adapt ang mga good practices dito para better access ang patients sa serbisyo," she added.
Vergeire also thanked the Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital for helping the national government, especially the Bureau of Quarantine for providing facilities for OFW COVID-positive patients arriving in the country.
"We would also like to thank you [Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital] because you do not confine your services to just Manilenos. Ang ating serbisyo at napapaabot niyo - whoever needs it, can go here," Vergeire said.
She also cited Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital’s complete equipment and essentials to provide the basic services needed for COVID-19 patients.
"Ang isa kagandahan dito they have Molnupiravir, they have Bexovid, meron silang Tocilizumab. So you go here with a moderate case, you have those kinds of medications, you have your doctors na nababantayan naman. Your network is complete," Vergeire said.
Joining Vergeire were Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna DOH Assistant Secretary Dr. Nestor Santiago Jr., MMCHD Regional Director Dr. Gloria Balboa, MHD OIC Dr. Arnold Pangan, and Sta. Ana Hospital Director Dr. Grace Padilla.
The group visited various amenities and services provided by the hospitals, namely the physical rehabilitation center, dialysis center, vaccine storage facility and emergency room.
Lacuna has expressed gratitude to the DOH for their support to the local government unit and vows to continue to support both the health cluster of Manila and DOH.
"Lahat ng kailangan iprovide ng local government sa ating health sector, lahat ng panggangailangan nila when it comes to machineries, gamot, lahat po yan provided natin," Lacuna said. (MPIO/PIA-NCR)
