QUEZON CITY, (PIA) --The Philippine Navy's engineering arm, the Naval Combat Engineer Brigade (NCEBde), popularly known as "Seabees," celebrates its 55th Founding Anniversary with Vice Admiral Adeluis S Bordado PN, Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy as the guest of honor and speaker.
Commander Naval Combat Engineer Brigade, Commodore Alfonspin P Tumanda Jr PN received Vice Admiral Bordado upon arrival and accords the latter with arrival honors at Headquarters Naval Combat Engineer Brigade, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
The ceremony marks the culmination of a month-long series of pre-anniversary activities in celebration of the anniversary that was conducted in accordance with health safety protocols.
Highlighting the celebration was the awarding of the Officer of the Year, Enlisted Personnel of the Year, Civilian Human Resource of the Year, Company of the Year, Support Unit of the Year, and Operating Battalion of the Year for their dedicated and excellent service. Likewise, internal and external stakeholders were also given due recognition for their invaluable support that contributed to the Unit's mission and accomplishments.
This year’s anniversary celebration marks the Brigade’s fifty-five years of service to the Filipino people that immensely contributed to the national government's effort in nation-building and development, particularly in the far-flung areas, by providing skilled workforce and mission-essential engineering equipment in the construction of infrastructure projects, rehabilitation efforts, and disaster response operation.
This year’s theme "PN Seabees: Kaagapay ng Hukbong Dagat ng Pilipinas Tungo sa Matatag na Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Pag Unlad," affirms the commitment of NCEBde as a responsive and reliable engineering unit to overcome any obstacle and realize every task embodied with the "Can Do" spirit.
Vice Admiral Bordado lauded the Naval Combat Engineer Brigade for their contribution to the Navy on its way towards becoming a modern and multi-capable naval combat support unit that is responsive to our maritime nation's defense and development.
