CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) -- The Freedom of Information-Project Management Office (FOI-PMO) launched a mobile version of the eFOI portal its 6th Year Program Anniversary Friday, July 22.
The FOI Mobile App which can now be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store will give mobile users more leverage to request information from the government.
The FOI-PMO commemorated its 6th Year Program Anniversary through the successful implementation of the online event entitled, “FOI @ 6: Navigating the Digital Landscape.”
Stakeholders from the government, private sector, academia, media, civil society organizations, and the general public joined the celebration by watching the two-hour live event broadcast from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on FOI Philippines’ official Facebook page. Through their warm support, the event garnered a total of 1.2K peak FB participants, 1.3K reactions, 2.8K comments and 805 shares.
Government heads, officials, and non-governmental partners took the lead in recalling and pushing positive prospects for the FOI Program, as we close a fruitful chapter of program implementation and welcome FOI-PMO to its new home office, the Philippine Information Agency. PIA Director-General Ramon Cualoping III assured the growing FOI community that the agency will continue to implement programs and projects of interest to Filipinos.
Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) Undersecretary and the Founding FOI Champion Kristian R. Ablan recalled how the FOI Program has contributed to easing out the problem of access to government information in the country.

Innovation remained at the core of FOI Philippines’ 6th Year Program Anniversary. AIM's Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) students presented their capstone projects, which aim to improve the functionality of the Electronic FOI Portal by utilizing various data science and machine learning techniques.
