Sandugo Festival Fusion Nights kick off

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, July 22 (PIA) -- The Sandugo Festival Fusion Nights 2022 kicked off on July 22 at the Sandugo Festival Grounds, Tagbilaran City Old Airport.

The Fusion Nights, now on its 7th year, aims to bring people to a hub where they can taste the best offerings of hotels, resorts and restaurants in Bohol without having to go to the resorts in Panglao or famous city restaurants and spend much.

Aside from the ongoing food fair, the Fusion Nights is a special ten-night feature with a line-up of events and surprises for the annual Sandugo festivities, including a variety of nightly entertainment such as local musical bands, cultural presentations, and other events from July 22 until 31.

This year’s participating concessionaires are Kew Hotel, Modala Beach Resort, Ocean Suites Boutique Hotel, Astoria Bohol, Panda Tea Garden Suites, Pepperoni’s Pizza, Celene’s Racket Food, Coco Craze, House of Lechon, Jzaki Enterprises, MCSA Corner Restaurant, Pearl Teepee, ROJO Panglao, Sweetniest88, Wing It! and Balamban Liempo.

This event is hosted by the Provincial Government of Bohol through the Bohol Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (BEDIPO), in partnership with the Bohol Association of Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants and the Isang Dugo Foundation.

The annual culinary feature event was launched in July 2014 as the International Fusion Nights - a product of a challenge to make the Sandugo Festival more exciting and attract greater attention after the province was struck by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake back in 2013.

This showcased the resiliency of the Boholanos and our commitment to rapidly recover and build back Bohol better as a tourism and investment destination.

This year is made special with the comeback of the month-long Sandugo festivities after two years of cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

National artists such as the rock band Sponge Cola that produced the songs ‘Jeepney’, ‘Bitiw’, and ‘Tuliro,' among others, on July 29 and the “Queen of Hugot” Moira Dela Torre on July 31, are the main features of the Sandugo Music Festival and during the Culmination Night. (ECB/PIA7 Bohol)
