ESPPO, BCPS, BCHO conduct medical mission, outreach program

BORONGAN CITY (PIA) -- The provincial and city police stations as well as the city health office conducted a medical mission with free consultation and medicines, “libreng tuli,” and outreach program on July 21 in Brgy. Banuyo, this city.

The Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office (ESPPO) team was led by PCol. Matthe Aseo, PNP provincial director; the Borongan City Police Station (BCPS) was led by PLt. Col. Ruel Buriat, acting chief of police; while the Borongan City Health Office (BCHO) was led by Dr. John Kelly Cainday.

The activity was in line with the 27th Police Community Relations Month, in which aside from the free medical services, some 110 families were also given food packs by the city local government unit through the representative of Mayor Jose Ivan “Dayan” Agda, Reginald Lorico, with Nestor Gallego, barangay chairperson.

The food packs contained rice, canned goods, and noodles.

“This endeavor aims to maintain the harmonious relationship between the PNP and the community and develop strong partnership for a better society,” PCol. Aseo said.

Barangay chairperson Gallego warmly extended his gratitude to all the people and organizations behind the success of the activity.

“This is a big help to my constituents,” Gallego said.

“We will not go to the downtown of Borongan City to have our constituents checked-up, and circumcised our children,” he added.

With this year’s theme, “Ugnayang Pulisya at Komunidad Tungo sa Mapayapa, Maayos at Maunlad na Pamayanan,” the PCR Month celebration aims to foster a deeper relationship between the police, stakeholders, and the community in order to achieve the PNP's peacekeeping initiatives and public safety programs, an ideal moment to increase community involvement in crime prevention.
