BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Health (DOH) Caraga recognized the contribution of voluntary and unpaid blood donors for their life-saving deed on June 14, 2022.

June 14 of every year is the World Blood Donor's Day. Voluntary donors are given recognition for selflessly donating their blood to people unknown to them. This celebration aims to raise awareness on the need for safe blood and blood products.

With this year's theme "Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives", DOH Caraga encouraged everyone to commit to regularly undergo blood donation and share the good message of the said selfless act.

All stakeholders were also encouraged to conduct advocacy activities in line with the celebration to sustain voluntary and non-renumerated blood donation.

Meanwhile, apart from the regular conduct of Mobile Blood Donation in local barangays, a special one-day Mobile Blood Donation was conducted by the City Health of Butuan on June 14 at SM City Butuan as support to the said celebration.
