LARENA, Siquijor, August 15 (PIA) -- In view of the start of classes of educational institutions for SY 2022-2023 this August, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Siquijor Provincial Statistical Office is set to start the institutional registration for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in schools in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), Division of Siquijor.
In its press release, the PSA said its partnership with DepEd supports the goal of registering children aged five years old and over, teachers, administrative staff, and their family members within school premises.
“Drawing light from the pandemic, this set-up provides students and teachers with convenience, accessibility, and safety by reducing the need to go to the registration center to complete Step 2 Registration or the capturing demographic data and a complete set of biometric information such as fingerprints, iris scans, and a front-facing photograph of the target registrants," the PSA said.
All applicants are required to bring at least two original and valid identifications (IDs) or supporting documents.
Only Certified True Copy (CTC) of vital civil registry documents such as Certificate of Live Birth (COLB), Certificate of Marriage (COM), and Certificate of Death (COD) issued by the Local Civil Registry Office and Sharia Circuit Registrar are accepted.
PSA also reminds the public that registration for PhilSys and delivery of the Philld cards are free of charge as mandated by RA 11055.
All registration operations conducted within school premises are in line with the terms and conditions set by DepEd to ensure safe and efficient registration experience for the registrants.
Meanwhile, to bring the registration experience closer to the far-flung barangays, PSA has established continued partnership with the local government units (LGUS) across the six municipalities in the province.
With their unwavering support and assistance, PhilSys Registration Team (PRT) continues to conduct mobile registration to reach out to the most vulnerable groups, such as the less fortunate, persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, and those living in geographically isolated barangays for a smoother and more convenient registration.
Strict implementation of minimum health and safety protocols are firmly observed in the conduct of mobile and institutional registration.
All PhilSys personnel strictly adhere to health and safety protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) such as social distancing, administration of health survey forms, checking of applicants/personnel body temperature, wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), disinfection of equipment, barriers, chairs, and common use supplies, among others.
