BORONGAN CITY (PIA) -- Mayor Jose Ivan “Dayan” C. Agda of this city has approved the amount of P66.2 million as the budget intended for activities and initiatives for peace and anti-illegal drugs operations for 2023-2025.
The approval was done during the joint meeting of the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) and the City Anti-Drug and Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) on August 12, held at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.
The two councils are set to implement a Comprehensive 3-Year Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan (POPSP) in collaboration with some local and national agencies.
The chief executive urged the program implementers to work efficiently in planning out and implementing economically viable steps that would be beneficial to the whole Borongan for the Local Government Unit (LGU) to soar higher and further in its bid to deliver better social services.
Mayor Agda encouraged the participants to include the cooperation and support of every Boronganon which could lead to a more progressive city and people.
Meanwhile, Barangay Chairperson Florita Cabato of Maypangdan thanked Mayor Agda for the budget support.
“Through this budget, perhaps we can now have a Rehabilitation Center, a Psycho Ward for those violent mentally dis-ordered persons and also Bahay Pag-asa building for Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) for which the barangay was helpless in attending such concerns,” Cabato said.
